Giving a slot to an estate is permanent — it can't be moved later, and deleting an estate doesn't return it.

On your computers
With either plan you can install Cairn on any computer you own or control. Your licence is active on one of them at a time, and activating it on another moves it there. Your estate information stays on the computer where you entered it.
If a licence lapses
Everything stays readable and exportable — only editing stops.
Nothing you have entered is deleted. Cairn becomes read-only when a subscription ends or a payment lapses, or if it cannot reach the licence service for more than 45 days on a perpetual licence or 30 days on a subscription. Renew, or reconnect so Cairn can check your licence, to make changes again.
Refunds and cancelling
A perpetual licence and extra estate slots are one-time purchases and are final: they are not refunded, including a slot that has not yet been given to an estate.
A subscription can be cancelled at any time from your account. Cancelling stops future payments; it does not refund any part of the period already paid for, and editing stays active until that period ends.
Two things sit apart from "sales are final". Any right to cancel that consumer protection law gives you is unaffected. And a product that does not work as described is a different matter — if something is genuinely broken, email us.
